Who is this course for?
This is a course for anyone who knows how to use a sewing machine, has basic to medium sewing skills and would like to do their own project.
I’ll be there to help you along the way whatever you would like to do and learn: using a pattern, cutting your material, sewing a garment etc. It can be a project from ‘scratch’, alterations or up-cycling an item, it’s up to you!
What do I need to bring:
Please bring your own sewing machine, material, pattern and tools like scissors, ruler, pins etc
This will be a small class, max. 5 people.

Who is this course for?
This is a beginners course for anyone who is interested in learning to sew!
Maybe you’ve always had an interest in sewing or knew the basics a long time ago and would like a ‘refresher’. Or maybe you have got a sewing machine which you’d like to finally learn to use.
I’m a patient, friendly and skilled dressmaker / designer who will teach you the basics of this enjoyable and useful craft.
We’ll keep the classes small – no more than five participants – so there will enough time and attention available.
What skills will I learn on the course?
We will cover the basics of sewing during the course including:
- setting up your sewing machine correctly and how to use it.
- use a basic pattern and how to cut material.
- fitting a zip.
Will I actually make anything during the course?
Yes! We will make a simple tote bag and zipper pouch ‘from scratch’ during the course.
What do I need to bring to the course? Do I need to buy materials?
All you need to bring is your own sewing machine and some tools like scissors etc (I’ll provide you with a list). If you don’t have a sewing machine, please contact me and I might be able to arrange one for you.
You do not need to buy any materials. I provide all the materials, zip & thread needed to make these pieces, inclusive within the course fee. Please note you can also bring your own material if you prefer.
